Second Journal

This is my writing one class journey that is still going on. I’ve learned a lot from writing class. Especially after I finished my autobiography task, I learned how to write with new vocabularies, how to use the right conjunction, the correct spelling, how to organize my writing and review some grammar that I already got from Structure class then applied on my writing. However, after I finished my task and email to my lecturer, I got some revision and still, I’m not careful enough to use the grammar and the vocabulary, especially between regular and irregular verbs.
I’m quite happy because every week we get a new task and it forces me to keep practicing and improve my skill. I know that many assignments are waiting for me, but by doing my writing task gives me a lot of progress. At first, I couldn’t do anything with blog and didn’t have any idea what I should write. But from this writing class, I could do blogging and know many things about blog that might be useful for my future. Beside studying writing in this writing class, I also can apply my writing skills on my reading class when I made the journal and I can apply it on my vocabulary class, when I made the summary of a novel that I read. However, I still need to improve my writing skills so I don’t use the same vocabulary in every task and I also need to improve the ideas of my writing. Next week, there will be a mid-term test. I’m quite nervous. Why? Because I don’t know what topic that I’ll get. Whatever happens, I should be ready and write about the topic that will be given. I will try to study hard by reviewing the grammar, reading my writing book, reading my friends’ blog and reviewing the revisions that my lecturer gave me. And of course I’ll do my best to get the best score.

My Important Event

It happened 2 years ago, on the month that I was waiting, July. I had been looking forward to the coming of July because I would turn to seventeen. People said that seventeen was the most special birthday.  I was already planning for my birthday dinner since 2 months before. My parents and I decided the place, the decoration, and the details of the event. I also designed my birthday invitation by myself.  After deciding all of those things, I had a pre-sweet seventeen photoshoot. It was really fun and unforgettable moment, because I took some photos that were used for my friends’ signature at my birthday dinner and for my documentation.  Actually I was really confused who was going to be invited. Why? Because that place could only accommodate 50 people. I should decide which friends from elementary, senior high school, church and my relatives that I really wanted to share my birthday with. After that, I distributed the invitation to my friends and relatives. My friends said that I was so lucky, because there were many of my friends who were celebrating their birthday in July; however, none of them was having the party on the same date as mine.
Finally, it was July, 25th 2014. It was my seventeenth birthday! I woke up in the morning and I felt that I just couldn’t wait for the evening to see my friends and my family at my birthday dinner.  But it turned out that it was a really busy morning. I had to go to the restaurant and checked the decoration and preparation, ordered some balloons and had my makeup. I almost had no time to think of anything else because just after all those things were settled, it was almost 6 pm. I had to go to the restaurant where my birthday dinner was taking place.
When I arrived at the restaurant, some of my friends had been there. I really appreciated my friends’ willingness to come and I was very happy. But deep in my heart I was also disappointed, because some of my friends said that they couldn’t come. Anyway, my disappointment was not for a long time because all of my friends came. They just wanted to give me a surprise. And they were successful because I was really surprised and of course, very happy. I never expected that I got a surprise and gifts that I really loved. My friends knew me so well. At the end of my birthday dinner, we took pictures together and went out of the restaurant to release the balloons.
Life has changed. After I turned to seventeen years old, I felt some changes happened in my life. I felt that I became more  mature and I had more responsibilities that I should do. In other hand, I could control my moods and emotions and also everything pushed myself to be more independent.

My Family and Friends

My family and my friends are the most precious God's gift in my life. I really can't imagine how my life will be without them beside me. The first one that I want to tell you is my awesome family. My family is considered as a small family, because it only consists of 3 people, my father, my mother and I. We are Christian family and I’m proud that I have been born in Christian family.

Me and my adoptive older sister

I don’t have any siblings but I have an adoptive older sister and she already got married and had a baby. She likes cooking so much that she took culinary program when she was also studying economy in her college. Sometimes I feel alone at home, but I try to do many activities so I don’t feel that way.

My father works as an electrician, he has some employees to install and maintain electrical equipment in a building or a  house and also repairs broken machines especially machines used for skin treatment. There’s a quote says “My father is my hero” and I think that quote is true, he’s my hero who always works hard for his family and educates her daughter well. What I like about my father’s work is when he has a project out of town, when he has finished the project he usually takes us there to see the project. Now let me tell you about my mother, she is a housewife and she’s helping my father with his work. Actually, she used to be an English lecturer in Widya  Mandala University but she understands a lot about my father’s work so she can be a big help. She’s really a super mom,  she is good at managing her work and time. She always cares about me and also her relatives.
My relationship with my parents is good. I always share my problems with them and my experience at the campus. We usually share our free time together, we also help each other when we have difficult problems and try to solve it together. My father likes reading a lot, but I don't have the same hobby. My hobby is the same as my mom, we like to watch Korean dramas together and when we finished watching it, we like to discuss the story, the conflicts that happened in the film, the solution and try to get a lesson from that and apply it in our real life.

Now it's time to tell you about my friends. From my previous post, I said that I can make friends with a lot of people in different places in a short time. So I have many friends from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, church, Mandarin courses and also from the campus. I have already met with a lot of characters and it's really an art to get along well with all of them. I think out of so many friends that I have, only several are my close friends and we usually have the same character that makes our friendship become long-lasting and stronger. My close friends, especially in campus, are cheerful, responsible, humble, and also hard working people. I hope that our friendship will be forever until we get old.

These are some pictures with my friends:
